Meet Ada
I work with adults and couples who may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or simply unsure of what needs to change. My clients come to counselling for many different reasons from anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, parenting and postpartum transitions to workplace stress, substance use, or navigating a major change in their lives.
I believe counselling should be a space where you can show up as you are without feeling judged or expected to have everything figured out. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where we can make sense of what you are experiencing, identify what you need, and develop practical ways to move forward.
My Approach / How I Work
My approach to counselling is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in the understanding that there is no single therapeutic approach that works for everyone. Each person brings their own experiences, strengths, relationships, culture, challenges, and goals into the counselling room, and I believe therapy should reflect that.
Rather than fitting clients into one particular model, I develop individualized treatment plans and draw from different therapeutic approaches based on each person’s needs. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)–informed concepts, strengths-based practice, mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies, and trauma-informed care.
Sometimes our work may involve understanding patterns and experiences more deeply; other times, it may be focused on practical strategies you can begin using right away. Often, it is a combination of both. I want therapy to feel meaningful and reflective while also giving you tools that translate into your everyday life.
With couples, I provide a supportive space to explore communication, conflict, emotional connection, intimacy, and recurring relationship patterns. The goal is not to determine who is right or wrong, but to help each partner feel heard, better understand one another, and develop healthier ways of navigating their relationship together.
Background and Training
My background includes several years of experience supporting adults across community mental-health, substance-use, primary-care, and counselling settings. Working across different areas of mental health has reinforced one of the values that guides my practice: people are more than the concern that brought them into counselling. Understanding the whole person and what is happening in their life, relationships, environment, and sense of self is an important part of creating meaningful and sustainable change.
More About Me
Outside of counselling, I value creativity, connection, curiosity, and finding small ways to slow life down. I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, spending time with my family, and finding creative outlets through things like journaling, art, music, and other hands-on projects.
As a wife and mom, I also understand that life can be full, messy, meaningful, exhausting, and beautiful- sometimes all at the same time. Those experiences have strengthened my appreciation for creating spaces where people don’t have to perform or have everything together. I believe there is value in humour, authenticity, curiosity, and allowing ourselves room to simply be human.
What inspires me most: watching someone begin to understand themselves differently-not because they have become a different person, but because they have started recognizing their own strengths, needs, voice, and capacity for change.
